Milky Way vs Andromeda

A couple of months ago, I watched a very interesting documentary about galaxies. I was highly fascinated, particularly on a certain part which really caught my attention. That being, the merging of our galaxy (Milky Way Galaxy) with the Andromeda Galaxy.

The Milky Way and Andromeda galaxy are on a collision course! When?

Some say 3 billions from now, some say 2 years from now, it's uncertain. But one thing that is most certain is, they're on a collision course, and the two gigantic galaxies will merge to become one super galaxy.

Galaxies collide and interact occasionally and there are several well-known examples in our very own galaxy. Little galaxies in our solar system often merge, and the results are quite dramatic
